Olá! Vamos conversar. Jeitinho is the Brazilian habit of finding a clever, often informal solution to a closed door. It is creative, social, and slightly subversive.

Where it shows up

A long line at a bank. A bureaucratic dead end. A reservation that does not exist. Brazilians look for the human behind the system and ask kindly.

The line with corruption

Most jeitinho is harmless social negotiation. A small charm, a personal request, a friend of a friend. It is not bribery, though the two can overlap when ethics slip.
