The essential eight
O que, quem, quando, onde, como, por que, qual, quanto. Memorize them as a single block. Drill them aloud.
Most can stand alone as a one-word question. Quanto? How much. Onde? Where. Quando? When.
Por que in its four spellings
Por que opens a question. Por quê closes one. Porque answers. Porquê is the noun. Confusing in writing, identical when spoken.
