Basic Portuguese
Days of the Week in Portuguese (with Audio-Style Examples)
Olá! Vamos conversar. Brazilians count the work week instead of naming it. Once you see the logic, it becomes one of the easiest pieces of vocabulary you will ever learn.
The numbered weekdays
Segunda-feira is Monday, the second day of the week if you start counting from Sunday. Terça, quarta, quinta, sexta follow the count. In daily speech the feira is usually dropped.
Sábado and domingo keep their own names. They mark the weekend and tend to carry a different mood.
Real usage in sentences
Brazilians often say na segunda, na terça, instead of including the full date. Use this when you make plans and you will sound natural immediately.
Let's practice together

AdrielyPode ser. Que horas?Sounds good. What time?
