Portuguese Pronouns Explained Simply (Eu, Você, Ele, Ela)
Olá! Vamos conversar. Pronouns in Brazilian Portuguese are flexible. Brazilians drop them when context is clear and add them back when emphasis matters.
The set you need
Eu, você, ele, ela, a gente, vocês, eles, elas. Tu exists but Brazilians use você in almost every region for both formal and informal address.
A gente means we in everyday speech. Nós is correct but feels more written. Both are fine.
When to drop the pronoun
Verb endings often signal the subject already. Falo português. The eu is implied. Adding it back means emphasis. Eu falo, mas ele não.
